B2O Paint Schemes for iRacing

Re: B2O Paint Schemes

Kyle suggested that I use the Corvette C7 Livery for our Enduro Teams so here's a sneak peak at the BMW version.

Please keep in mind these are very early in the process and will undergo a large number of changes.

Looks nice Ken! I assume you don't need the Blancpain logo then?

I'm not a fan of those vents on the hood / above the tires. Maybe try black vents and do just the last / upper part of each fin that red?

Re: B2O Paint Schemes

Looking nice!

Those vents now look like a little like a giant sticker though, because the edges inside the hole are also red. Maybe an idea is to paint every other wing red, sort of like I did on the Aston?:

Re: B2O Paint Schemes

lol ya I get the point guys.

Honestly at this point it was just about getting color on the car. It is quite early in the process so most of what you see will change prior to final.

Even the Red B2O looks like crap.

This was more so you know that Enduro Team Cars are being worked on.

@Kyle, I found a pretty high res Blancpain Logo for myself so I no longer need yours, thanks.

We aren't dogging ya. It looks good and is a good start. We understand its WIP.

I might give you a decal layer or something to use because I have a really good one that includes the Blancpain number blocks, which are much better than the iRacing ones.

Will the game actually load the Blancpain Number Blocks because if so those would be much better than the iRacing ones, they're crap.

Lol. Yes but I'm not sure how it works exactly / the exact details. My first question would be if this showed correctly during our session last night:

You can see here it is placed and configured correctly. Though I'm curious now how it shows up in an official session.

Re: B2O Paint Schemes

I believe you can't use the decal layers for official session, iRacing will just overwrite it with their standard layer.

Edit: Did some searching, and it seems you need to be a Trading Paints Pro user to upload decal layers:

Then other people in your session will also need to check "Download decal layers" to see it.

This doesn't seem useful for team driving if some of us don't have a pro account. I'm not looking to buy it just so that I can use a custom decal layer.

Re: B2O Paint Schemes

I'm not going to make it too complicated, believe me. It doesn't make sense to create a paint that only some people will see so no worries.

I also want this paint to be usable outside of Endurance so some compromises will need to be made in order for that to work.

Re: B2O Paint Schemes

I figured it was moreso for our league, in which case it would be very awesome for everyone to be running those same plates.

I don't recall but I swear I read somewhere that if you used a certain number for the color of the #, or something like that, it removed that.

Also Noel, you don't need to be a pro member, you can remove your and anyone else's decal layer by placing a blankTGA in the appropriate car folder and naming it: car_decal_xxxxx.tga (xxxxx being the member #). You can do this with your and anyone else's car. So maybe it might be cool for the person streaming or posting videos to youtube to do that for the main members of the league when applicable. I would do it for those who use the right plates.

Come to think of it, theoretically, you could use this to place the sun screen sponsor, number plates and necessary B2O and other sponsors on everyone's cars (even though they themselves wouldn't see it). Again, interesting for a streamer. It would be very easy to compile a list of members in the league, get their #s, and place the proper template tgas of car_decals in the right folders.

Re: B2O Paint Schemes

That would be cool for League but you wouldn't be able to do it anywhere outside the League which is a bit of a problem.

I really want to run paints that can seamlessly transition between League and the rest of iracing.

Re: B2O Paint Schemes

I don't know what you mean Duke. You just have the Blancpain plates on... they'll get covered up in official sessions, so I'm not sure what the issue is? Or are you referring to something else?

Re: B2O Paint Schemes

Usually when you have multiple decal layers they sometimes don't line up in Session. I happened across this on two occasions, one in the Stock Car and one in the KIA.

This is why I don't think having any additional decal layers is a good idea if it's to be covered by an iRacing Decal Layer in session.

Re: B2O Paint Schemes

How to get access to that DP paint?
I've identified some areas that need tweaking before I can release it. I'll likely just upload it to my Trading Paints Showroom and add Driver names for people here.

I'll likely tackle that on the weekend because I'm focusing on the GT3 cars at the moment for League and Endurance.
