Nurburgring is coming to iRacing!!

I think I will polish off a game next week to practice the ring, with it being a drop week for me in BSS (COTA)

No idea, the Website has been down for me pretty much the entire time for me.

I got my updates through the download page but haven't been able to do anything else.

The build they're trying to deploy is huge. It has new particle physics, new sounds, the Nürburgring and the McLaren, and, a new back-end. And everything seems to work except the back-end.

Right now they're trying to roll back to the old back-end to see where the issue comes from (and because that one works) but the down time will be at least 4 more hours.

The website was working for a few minutes a couple of hours ago. During that time I managed to get into a Nordschleife session. And it's awesome

You couldn't have found a more lame car to run your first laps lol. I'm curious, why did you choose the Mazda over the Slowstace?

I honestly probably would have picked the MX-5 as well for a light cruise to learn the ring.

I still haven't even had a chance to update my game.

Haha. I know all too well I will likely be jumping into the new McHonda and taking it around the track.

Cause why not take the fastest car in the service that I don't know and run it on a massive track I have never run before!

Also have you guys seen the new backfire effects? The MP4 12c is a god damn flamethrower now.

Haha, it was a hosted session by a staff member. The choice was between: the HPD (no thanks), the BMW Z4 (no feeling), the Skip Barber (decent but no straight line speed) and the MX-5. And the MX-5 is quite realistic as a "tourist car" I think.

Lap time was around 8 minutes, less if you know the track and know what you're doing which I didn't

Just turned my first few laps in the V8SC and all i can say is... WHAT A BLAST. Every corner is so challenging I've never had to utilize that much concentration to complete an almost clean lap.

Fastest time so far Baseline setup and default weather was right around 7 Minutes 8 Seconds and some change. I think baseline with some more practice I could get a high 6 minute lap time. SO happy the ring is here I could do a backflip.....

My first lap was a sub 7 minute but it had quite a few off-tracks. After many, many attempts I managed to do a clean lap, 6:48.7 on baseline.

Man, that V8 on there is a handful. It's mostly holding on for dear life over all of the bumps and curbs.
