Re: Daytona 24 B2O team?

I used a fairly aggressive setup on the McLaren yesterday with minimum wing. It still felt pretty stable except in turn 3 (or 4, the left hander), on full throttle. Also, if you brake too much while turning into the bus stop then you're dead, but I assume that happens with all cars using low brake bias.

So because of the immense speed on the straight I'd say it is still a contender. I don't know how exactly the Fjord felt but I heard Duke complaining about the Ruf quite a few times :). I don't think any of us tried the BMW but I still wonder if it has enough speed for the straights.

One of the main worries might be when the C7's are on cold tires because that clearly was hard mode from what I saw.

Re: Daytona 24 B2O team?

Ford is the only gt3 I do not own. My final vote would be the Macca.

EDIT: Can we ensure everyone is on the correct endurance team? B2O appears to me to have 2 enduro teams (that I'm on): one for BMW and one for the Macca. Would it also make more sense to just have multiples: So enduro team 1, 2 and 3 that everyone is on all of them (and ranking be damned, as that skill will have nothing to do with it)

EDIT 2: I'm also on an "alternate" endurance team
No, Enduro Team and numbering is too confusing because when the time comes nobody is ever certain of what Team number to register under.

For this event I'll either create or rename a Team specifically for Daytona 24 and all involved will have admin status on it.

Once the car is finalized I'll also update the current skin to reflect all Driver names on the roof.

I'm skeptical about Trading Paints Teams working by then so I'll create a number of copies of the Endurance Livery and put them in a .zip file for everyone to place in their Paints Folder.

The Ruf was a complete nightmare for me around Daytona last night. Eventually I used an old setup to get around there which was pretty quick but very slippery. It seemed as if I could have stable and slow or quick and twitchy; I just could not find a middle ground last night.

I'll put up another session or two this weekend though because I want to try the Macca and the BMW.

lol what a cluster fuck leaving the Pits there last night.

Not sure how hard numbered can be, but if you insist, we can do it that way you suggested.

Just trying to point out that at the moment I'm not sure how our teams look and we should make sure that is taken care of, because it's easy and good to get out of the way.

And noel, wow haha. That looked like a quality session. Especially those DPs. They will be the death of us all.

Re: Daytona 24 B2O team?

They were numbered in the first place and virtually everyone complained, yourself included. Even BMW Enduro 1 and BMW Enduro 2 confused people hence the reason specificity is required when naming these Teams.

As for setting the Team up I can do that in minutes when we're ready but we're not ready now; rest assured I'll get to it when we are. ;)

I'm hoping all the Team Drivers will be present for League tomorrow night which is when I'd like us all to discuss our plan of action.

By my estimate we need to nail down the following:

  • Driver Race Schedule: a minimum of 2 Drivers should be present throughout the event or 1 Driver + 1 Alternate.
  • Vehicle confirmation and Team Setup Practice
  • Alternate Race Schedule *critical* (should someone drop connection, hardware failure, emergency or some other contingency)
  • Alternate Driver List?

No I remember complaining that we had two different but very similar names... it was like Band of Others and then B2O team or something confusingly general like that. The point was they were extremely general and could have been easily confused. There wasn't numbering.

I'll more than likely be on at one point or another tonight to practice a bit for the league race tomorrow. It's at Montreal, right?

Shorter the name, better. It's worse to have it cut off.
Daunt, where was that RUF going? What a moron! :p:lol:

Re: Daytona 24 B2O team?

I don't know who's practicing tonight because Thursdays are scheduled Wing broadcasts for Elite: Dangerous.

I'm sure some Drivers will be on but I have no idea who does what in iRacing outside of Monday, Tuesday and Friday?

I understand you normally have Elite. Just saying I'm going to try to be on.

I'm in, should be able to race any time period, just need to know ahead of time when I'm driving so I can make sure my sleep schedule fits.

Looks like you guys would be only one I could run with. Guys I usually run with are either MIA or busy. If you're willing to take me, I can run any GT3 car, with preference on BMW.

Re: Daytona 24 B2O team?

According to the formula mentioned earlier:
6 drivers = min 34 laps per
7 drivers = min 30 laps per
Based on 820 lap total.

Thanks Dino. I think we forgot to discuss it on Friday. So where do we stand with this? Should we try and discuss it tonight when we do some PP practice?

Practice Pals is every Monday and Tuesday night from here until eternity (I hope). We typically start around 7:30 or 8 PM EST.

I fully intend on hosting another Practice Session Tuesday night as tonight is BSS typically.

I'll either be really late or miss it all together tonight as well. I'm going to see The Revenant tonight with a few buddies.
