A few connected last night and died, and then promptly left. We need to enable side-chat so that we may interact with them.

I am very much against enabling side chat .
In the long run it is more annoying then helpfull and(if i remember correctly) it will also enable VON in sidechat ....

I want sidechat enabled simply because those that are not hostile at least have a means of communicating it.

Not everyone is in the game for the PVP aspect so we need to cater to those people as well. For those who find VON annoying, you can simply turn down the volume in your Settings.

I left the mission file uncompressed from the pbo(as suggested by debug tutorial). So that we can further customize it without the need of extracting and repacking back to pbo. Devs been researching custom debugs so he may be able to add things like disable ability etc.

Duke there is an article about adding sidechat on the hosts knowledge base but when I bring it up it wants login creds which mine the ones for the tcadmin dont work(must be for the master account). Just look up sidechat in the knowledge base. I'm pretty certain its real easy to enable. Also you need to remove nameplates again. Then once we get all the ingame admin tools setup fully and locked down we can begin to advertise.

OK sidechat should be enabled. I'll post later this week in the Admin Forum how to do it but essentially it's two numerical values in the description.ext file.

We can have and enforce a rule of no voice in side chat, most popular servers with active admins do that, anyway. Everyone that breaks the rules and violates it and are banned after repeated warnings are trolls that we don't want to be playing with, anyway.

Side chat is enabled, also fixed a typo in the server name.

There's also the option to turn VON off on the server by default.

VON gives you the ability to talk to others' in direct, if you want to play "Friendly" and not kill on sight it's required.

Do you still have your gear?

My guess is that there is still db work being done because every time I login, my vehicle is gone.

Guys, if you're still messing with the db, can you please advise us as to when the work will be complete?

There was an accident trying to clean up vehicle spawns that were incorrect and vehicles only were reset, apologies to any affected but they were trying to clean things up for advertising. I can come pick you up out of there Noob, but I show 2 PBX's on that island, can you not get to them from your present position?

It should be announced in some way indeed, i hate getting my ass stuck on the isles/rigs over and over.
