2025 iRacing Sebring 12 Hour

@Deb , I tried the old setup you shared. It feels alright, but I don't have much of a reference of how the car should feel. I did compare it a little bit to the medium downforce endurance iRacing setup, which is a lot faster between corners but you give some time back in T17 and T1. I'll try to compare a bit more, but I am also curious to hear what @Skid_Marc_ thinks of the setup.

I missed that there was a posted setup for the P2. I've been using the mid one, but I'm downloading it and I'll give it a shot.

Okay, let me know if you want to change setups. I should have some time on Friday to practice when I get back.

Dunno if it is because the car is IMSA but that intake with the red highlight on the bonnet is on the passenger side
I will check in a normalGT3 session

to see if it is the same

I'm stumped, I think i tried every series with a GT3 car and every one of them has the intake on the passenger side, so i went out to the paint shop, lo and behold, drivers side for the intake, so I am guessing a template error.

Thanks @Nejtun for the bug report.

The gas filler actually is on both sides on the template. I had a 50/50 chance of getting it right and "assumed" iRacing would select the proper one for whatever series was being run.

I was wrong as usual.

I'll correct the template later in the day and re-upload.

Apologies.

This isn't a template error. The fuel fill location changes based on which side the car is pitting on. By default, iRacing has put it on the drivers side, but at Sebring, because the fuel tank will be on the right side of the car, the fuel inlet has been shifted to the right side. At a track like Daytona, the fuel fill will remain on the drivers' side.

I saw the contact between the LMP2 and the BMW. I saw the BMW wait and intentionally wreck the LMP2. I put two and two together, saved the replay, and filed the protest.

What I DIDN'T see was that the 2nd place blue LMP2 was the car that made contact with the BMW, and the BMW intentionally wrecked the 1st place blue #28 LMP2... And now I'm left wondering if they were really that mad with the #28? Or was the #28 a victim of mistaken identity? Either way, what a twat-basket of a BMW.

Wow, great work finding all of this @Skid_Marc_!!!! I bet you are right, they took revenge on the #28 mistakenly. I think iRacing should post those reels on the forum and ban that team. Not only were they a menace in intentionally taking out the #28 car, they were a menace driving around the track so slowly, putting on the whole field at risk. iRacing should make a statement with these videos that these types of actions have severe consequences the same as they would IRL. Although I suppose if that happened IRL, the BMW team would go to jail for assault and potentially attempted murder.

I wouldn't put it past people like this to wreck the wrong car. Ridiculous action and it was evident there was a lot of planning involved. Also plenty of time for his team mates to convince him to not give in to the naughty voices.

I've also filed a protest for it.

Well, this is a first. iRacing released an updated Event Results where they DQ'd the team, dropping them to last place? I like this change! They quit out, so I'm not sure how much of a difference it makes in this instance, but knowing that iRacing WILL retroactively adjust your stats is pretty cool!

I honestly don't feel like that is enough. I would think they would ban them or at least suspend them for a period of time. Since they already quit, dnf doesn't really mean much.

iRacing doesn't disclose bans, suspensions, or other disciplinary actions. Those are, and should be, taken car of in private. However, iRacing has usually let the results stand, afaik. This is the first time I've filed a protest and had iRacing tell me they amended the results and send me the updated link.
