Capture Kobuleti Community Campaign Day! - 23rd June 2019

Hoping to get as many people as possible together this Sunday (23 June 2019), starting sometime around 14:00 GMT to see if we can finally wipe this mission out!

Main Mission Objective:
Capture Kobuleti Airport - Eliminate all enemies around the Kobuleti airport and utilize helicopters to land troops on the airport.

Minimum Steps Required to Achieve the Objective:
Eliminate Air Threats
Eliminate all Surface to Air threats in and around the airport
Shuttle Troops to the airport utilizing Helicopters
Optional Steps to Achieve the Objective:
Eliminate all Enemy Ground Targets
Advance friendly Armour and Infantry onto the Airport
Group Objective:
Sink the Moskva

For the most part, this mission is just a large density of enemy ground targets. For starters, we'll need both SEAD and Air-to-Air, but once the majority of SAM's and enemy fighters are eliminated, they will not respawn, so people will be able to spread out and use whatever they're comfortable with!

The mission is nice for our group in that it doesn't require a lot of coordinated flying or complex timing to get things done. Just be sure to communicate with each other on who is rolling in on targets, and ESPECIALLY who is where in the landing/take-off patterns.

Available JTAC's are:
1688 - Coast
1588 - "Middle" ~50 miles in-land
1788 - If Anyone in an A10 is painting targets, this code is probably the easiest to use. I don't know how many other codes the F-14 can use.

The one thing that I would like to do as a group, though, is go after the Moskva! If we could get @Nejtun with the Viggen, a couple F/A-18's with HARMs and one or two F-14's with ADM-141's to run distraction, and then anyone else following with bombs, MAVs, and whatever else they want to throw at it to bring it down, I think that would be quite fun to do as a group!

And if anyone else wants to come up with a group objective, or something on the map particularly pisses them off, we can add another side objective or two, but for the most part, I'd like to keep it focused on the coastal ground targets, between the river and south to the airport, and any anti-air targets in the East that may impede the movement of troops to the airport!

Anyone interested in trying some actual coordinated strike flying, rather than just taking off and engaging individually? The comms and timing seems intimidating, but adding a level of strike coordination and package communications to the mix adds a whole new dimension that adds a ton of fun and replayability to study flight sims.

Obviously in asking, I'm offering my own experience as a flight and package lead to help coordinate and teach.

My main goal is to just complete this mission. We've come close twice, and we just haven't stuck with it to the end to eliminate enough ground targets to complete the mission. There are so many ground targets on CK, I don't want to be waiting on coordinated strikes for the number of targets available.

However, if everyone would pick a plane for the Group Mission, and you'd like to plan and coordinate the strike on the Moskva, that would be a great opportunity to try it! It would certainly be best for someone else to come up with a strategy for that than me! I want to throw ADM's at it, but I'd happily have someone else tell me WHEN to go!

That's pretty early for me on Sunday  Although I am not sure how much help I would be right now.
We can do some more practice Saturday, if you like! Also, just a tip, there are a couple ships just off the coast, and 4 more about 50 miles out, due West from the airport. Hitting a ship with a bomb is SO much easier than trying to hit a pick-up truck!

Pay no mind that the two close ones are NATO ships containing war relief supplies and medical aid, Nejtun swears he heard from a guy who heard from a guy that they may be smuggling extra goods, and anyways 500-1000 points for a ship kill is 500-1000 points.

The smugglers off the east coast are a nice practice target for sure, you are just about out of range from the S300 missiles coming from the Moskova, good luck getting to the battleships in the north before me though as I shall be using those to warm the Viggen up :p

Okay, I may practice some this afternoon and try to shoot those ships, getting better at the basics and I know how to do a bombing run but don't know about any other weapons. Not sure about Saturday since I am doing 6 Hours of the Glen. I probably should spend some time with my family or they will forget who I am o_O

What I had heard was that the ships were full of teddy bears and chocolate candies for the children of the war torn area, but Nejt likes to keep blowing them up anyway. Heartless bastard that one.........

I'll try to join up. Hopefully i'll be more good than harm. Been practicing the A-10C mostly, so will prob fly that, unless u guys think the Su25T might be more useful for SEAD.
By the way, is it possible to switch planes during the mission? e.g. SEAD with the Su25T followed by bombing runs with the A10

You can absolutely do that.

I definitely plan to participate in this although I probably won't be able to make 14:00 GMT on account of family being in town. Probably more likely I can arrive around 16:00/17:00 GMT.

I might be down for some of that. Besides, it's always fun to do a bit of formation flying especially in VR.

Does the mission need any changes? (Extra planes/time/season)
Oh and @Skid_Marc_, we might have to set you up with "anydesk" it's made by some guys that ditched Teamviewer.
Teamviewer is no longer an option as it flags our server as commercial due to the O/S.

I shall do my best to be there, haven't had any online time last week.

F-14 Thundercat incoming. Count me in!

U can delete the apaches doing nothing and some tankers and shit we dont use. So that i dont have to press F2 20 times before i see a player plane. That mission always giving me stutters for some reason, clean it up a bit pls.

If we're removing shit, we're better off creating something from scratch as the units are linked to scripts that will fail if you remove the units.

Adding planes/waypoints (For JDAM's, Sows and RB anti ship missiles.) shouldn't be an issue, as long as you keep the naming convention intact.
