I picked this up as well. Been wanting to play a proper city building game and this is looking pretty interesting.

Too bad we can't play this together as it won't be featuring multiplayer.

You can upload your savegame to steam workshop, so if you want you can work on the same city in turns though. Or just upload to show it off.

Game should launch around 7 pm CET, can't wait :D

It may sound stupid, but pondering on how to play ths game all day, lol. Hope it's as good as it seems to be, the streams definately looked very promising!

Awww, well at least feel comforted by the fact that it's very likely worth the wait!
Meanwhile my download is almost done, but I must get my kid to swimming lessons, make dinner afterwards, do dishes, its garbage container day, must do kiddo showering, bedtimestories and have a tumbledryer beeping at me, so I'm still hours away from playing as well XD

edit, actually, I have 5 minutes to see if it actually runs...lol. Ultimate tease...

Always a worthwhile test though. Nothing worse than coming back to a new game after downloading it and WHATITDOESNTFUCKINGWORK?

I actually fixed the exit to desktop crash by making a savegame. I guess they never expected someone to open and close the game without actually playing and saving, lol.

After one evening of play: oh boy, Paradox Interactive delivered on this one....
My view on pink haired Finish women has changed forever.. :D

When you're still building your city in your dreams you know it's a good game. And I've barely scratched the surface here...

Two things that stood out for me reading info etc. is;

1. No day/night cycle

2. 1 Million population cap.

Point 1 would be kind of weird for me, I mean, it being perpetual daylight, does anyone know if there's any plans to put it in? and point 2 sounds like not a lot of people for a city... Oh and is it right you can't build tunnels?

Your feedback has certainly got me interested though, Simcity was fun at first but ultimately a bit of a let down... so I'm being cautious about this one.

EDIT: Who am I kidding, I'm not cautious about anything. Watched the trailer on Steam and immediately bought it - FU Simcity :p

1. Not a problem for me, in all my previous citybuilders I would -select- nightview for a short 'ooh look at all the pwetty lights', then turn it back to day only. In simcity it would basicly be the same, except you couldn't choose day only mode, and at night you basicly couldn't see what you were doing properly. I'm not missing it ;)

2. True, but keep in mind that -each- citizen is fully simulated and is a child/teen/young adult/adult/elderly that can be seen going to work/school/shop/leisure/hospital/graveyard, where in most other games stuff like traffic would be mostly an indicator, where in this game everyone of that million has a name and is walking/driving/commuting by public transport/sailing/flying to their destination. Next to that I've seen streams of cities with 100-200K inhabitants, and they already look like bustling metropoles with the player having absolutely their hands full allready to keep everything managable, especially traffic. When it comes down to looks, it feels like every citizen counts for 5 compared to other citybuilders.

As an example, here's my current city of 6400 people. It already looks huge, and already I had to make a spaghetti junction to make it a bit future proof for traffic XD
