There has been a number of rather in-depth discussions over Rules and/or Guidelines that Fragtard should try to enforce on our DayZ Server.
DayZ is a much different game than most in that Server Admins don't have a lot of control over their own Servers and Server Rules with this mod. In fact, the rules set forth by the DayZ Mod Team are as follows:
"Duping" or duplicating of weapons/ammo is one such issue that has garnered a fair amount of Feedback on Teamspeak.
There are two very different thought processes on the duplicating issue such as:
I can see and agree with both thought processes so I turn it over to you fine folks to help us ultimately decide what rules we'll put in place on our DayZ Server.
Please note though that much of what we discuss here will be next to impossible if not completely impossible to police on our Server. These guidelines would likely be Community guidelines and as such may be adhered to or ignored at your own discretion.
Also, if you can think of any other Guidelines we need to consider please feel free to voice them here.
Lastly, we are officially shopping a new DayZ Server Provider in hopes that we find an ally in combating both poor support and the rampant hackers we've run into daily. DayZ is a growing mod that a large number of our Community is involved in so we'd be remiss if we didn't continue to operate our own Fragtard DayZ Server.
With any luck, we will have a new DayZ Server Host within the next 2 weeks, stay tuned.
Thanks all
DayZ is a much different game than most in that Server Admins don't have a lot of control over their own Servers and Server Rules with this mod. In fact, the rules set forth by the DayZ Mod Team are as follows:
As you can see from the above, our hands are tied as Game Admins but it still hasn't negated the ideas of some that we should attempt to play the game as intended rather than take advantage of it's flaws and/or bugs.DayZ Mod Server Rules:
Failure to adhere to these rules will result in your account being cancelled without refund.
- Servers may not be pass worded or locked.
- No other mods will be allowed to be run in conjunction with DayZ.
- Editing of DayZ core files, or mission files is forbidden.
- Kicking to make room for “friends” or clan mates is also not allowed.
- The minimum slot count is 40.
- Battleye is a requirement.
- There are only two reasons why a person should be banned on the server: Malicious talk, and racism. You may not ban a person for stealing your loot / killing you / spying on you etc.
- The same applies for kicking.
- Kicking for extremely excessive ping or desync is permitted.
"Duping" or duplicating of weapons/ammo is one such issue that has garnered a fair amount of Feedback on Teamspeak.
There are two very different thought processes on the duplicating issue such as:
- "Duping is a part of the game so I see no reason not to use it"
- "Duping is no different than cheating and only helps to water down the overall immersion of DayZ"
I can see and agree with both thought processes so I turn it over to you fine folks to help us ultimately decide what rules we'll put in place on our DayZ Server.
