Enduro Round 3 - Zolder iRacing

yeah watched the replay a few times now... jumped into a session aaand did a 1:29.438 in race-trim (Weather= air 18°C, track 32°C Winds S, 14kph) So you could say pretty much the same weather as yesterday

btw. Noel your Fuel Calculation is slightly off. Cause your first stint starts with 130L which is (because of the pacelap) not possible. But I think at the end we will still get 44 Laps with ~1L left in the tank.

btw. 1 thing we should test is how much someone loses in the pit with a full pitstop (Fuel, Tyres, Driver Change)

Yeah you're right, it's meant to be more of a guide rather than exact lap-by-lap values. But I can probably include the pace lap fuel for the next race.

A full pit stop is 53-54 seconds, I don't know how long the pit road is at Zolder. At Brands Hatch a full pit was worth almost a full lap. The minimum pit duration for a driver swap is 30 seconds.

Steve, the Team is Band of Others Alternate. You've been sent a Drivers request and paint has been updated.

I'll do my best to be there but I can't make any promises, I'm terribly sorry.

Well I only did the Saturday race. I was in the same session as Marc. They started first I Q'ed 14th but my line was hanging back at the start so I really started in 17th. Took it very easy the first few laps. Ofcourse alot of fuck up's happened infront of me. They were 3times 3 wide right infront of me in the first 2 Laps. Managed to get up to 6th place near the end of stint one.

But then #9 RUF happened..... At the end of stint 1 he did hit me twice and spun me once. I did lose 36.5 seconds because of repairs in pits...
I came out in 25th position with pretty much everybody infront of me lapped me atleast once...
But I knew I was one of the fastest cars on race pace out there and I used it goooood.
At the end of stint 2 I was already back in 9th with everybody except for the first 3 cars on the same lap with me.
3rd stint rolled around... I knew that I have to push like hell because at the end of the stints I always had major understeer especially in T11 and T1. (didnt matter if I saved tyres or not). So I did that. Got a gap of 8secs to the car behind me (BMW). But then again #9 RUF happened.... now it was that one guy's teammate who punted me for another 4x ... I already gathered because of those idiots 14x... (only had 4 offtracks at that time being ~70Laps in the race) also had a lapped car on pitroad entrance literally stopping right infront of me on the first apex of the Pit entrance.... so in total had 18x because of idiots sofar.
In stint 3 I was pushing like hell and got up to 11 offtracks.

That was not the problem but the Beemer did catch up at the end of the stint ofcourse and with 10 Laps to go he just punts me and I got DQ'd... but still gained 0.15SR :D

The result of the other McLaren team was not bad.

I could not get a good qualifying time in so we started on position 27. The grid was as aggressive as usual so I tried to keep out of trouble as much as I could. I could not avoid everything, such as a Ford trying to push me off the track twice on one straight. Another incident was a Ruf divebombing me in the first chicane. He could not hold is line but fortunately all it took was a slight tap on his right side to send him off track. That still cost me 2x however.

Because I was used to being at the front of the field in split 5 I forgot that our pit stall was all the way in the back this time. I wasn't paying attention at the start of the pit lane and missed our pit stop :|. Then I looked in the fuel black box which showed 0.5 laps remaining. I tried to save as much fuel as I could but could only make it to a little before the last chicane. Towed the rest which took over a minute.

I gave the car to Davey with 17 incidents I believe. Because of all the craziness we were only up to about position 23 before I missed the pit stall. I believe Davey pitted out in 27th.

Davey kept it mostly clean in his stint and gained a few positions. He didn't have much practice with my setup so he was struggling in T1 a lot. In the end I had to start the final stint with 23 incidents.

The final stint was much better for me. There was rubber down and the traffic had spread out much more. I was able to do the stint with only about 2 off-tracks but decided for the heck of it to use up all of the incidents on the last lap.

Because of pit strategy, others crashing and me finding some pace in the last stint we were able to climb up to 17th. One lap more would have gotten us in 16th because we were catching them really fast.

BMW will to good there due to sustained turns. Make the car go fast in those and don't worry too much about the 1 straight.
