I somewhat understand that the beginning / end doesn't sync up with what everyone would want it to be. But it never does. I'd like to see it shift / vary based either on the RL location of the track, or just change (rather than be 1300 GMT every time). Because you could make the same argument for "why does it need to start at that time?"

I'd not mind seeing the start/end times vary from race to race. I'd especially love to see it synced to the real world location when we have dynamic day/nights.
Total agreement.

My biggest issue with the set was putting the power down out of corners and the main reason I was having so much trouble with it was because the rear end was SO bouncy. I've softened up the rear springs two clicks, while adjusting the ride height (careful to keep rake the same) and softening the high speed rebound in the rear.

The difference is incredible and it is so much more drivable. MUCH better.

Next week, proto GT is going to be at Le Mans. Couldn't ask for a better way to get ready for the race. Anyone up for plenty of practice and doing a race? It's a 90 minute race.

Oooh, that sounds good. I first thought Le Mans was on October 22 but later realized it is actually a week later than that, which is why I haven't put practice in yet. The Proto GT series is definitely a good way to get accustomed to traffic. I even think the C-specs might be relatively close top-speed wise to Ford GTs.

I'll be doing an absolute crap ton of these races. I have a hard time practicing sometimes. I find it easier to keep pushing myself and run an insane amount of laps when there is something on the line. Like positions and the checkered flag. What can I say, I'm a gamer not a practicer. I'm not saying I never practice or people shouldn't practice. I'm simply saying I can put in more seat time when there is a green and checkered flag involved.

I just signed up for Band of Others so i'm new here. I signed up because i wanted to get into endurance racing and this seemed like the best place to do it. My iRating is 2000 and i have experience in GT3 (i'm currently leader in the 6th division Blancpain sprint championship).

If i get to join i would like to run Aston or Ford GT2. I haven't had much practice in neither of those but i am willing and able to spend a lot of time practicing. I am waiting to be enlisted for the army so i have no time restrictions at all.

So i wanted to know what the requirements are to join a team in the 24H of le Mans? do i have a chance?

Hello Sam! Welcome.

Echoing what Duke's getting at- it would be great to race with you on track! Hopefully you can hop on with us this week. We'll actually be doing some Le Mans practice this week as Proto GT is at Le Mans.

On that note - who's up for a race possibly Wednesday? ProtoGT race with a good B2O turnout?

thank you,
i'll try to be there tonight. i'd have to change my sleep pattern since i live in the Netherlands, but i'll make it work. Count on me! :)

As for the Blancpain League, i'll probably join that if endurance doesn't work out.
But my main goal is to drive endurance :)

i'll try the car out in practice to see if i like it. i'm willing to drive nearly any car just so we can assemble a team for it.

-edit: i won't drive HPD though :(

Tried your setup Kyle and also tried one of mine (not sure what the base was). I'm not sure if I like your spring setup. It doesn't turn very well, probably because of the lack of rake. My setup seems to deal with the bumps better too but I still have to test the differences more.

When I tried it in the McLaren, the rake didn't matter at all I believe speed wise.

I ran your setup twice today, Noodle, and it feels really good. Nice and stable. It takes the curves really well. It also hits a top speed of.... 290kph... 300kph in draft. It feels SOOOO good through the curves, but I can't make up enough time on anyone through the corners to make up for getting driven away from on the straightaways by other Aston's and Vette's alike. Just might be something to look into.

No sure if it's the rake? The wing is already "Hole 1". Not sure what else can be done to put speed back into it.

Did you post it Noel.? I didn't see your setup on here.

I have two references to gauge setup and overall speed...
  • 300m board right before first chicane - with my setup I should be at 292 kph
  • 300m board right before the second chicane - I believe i should be at or above 285 kph.
I'm curious to know what you get for those spots. Also what are your times like?

I never messed with the rake, that's what it was from Kens set. I'd rather be fast on the straight as long as it doesn't a) compromise lap times and b) make the car too bumpy / dangerous

I guess that makes me feel a bit better, but at those speeds, I'm getting walked all over.

I think you stupid...
Everyone does. Its not an exclusive club! :D

I don't have time for the 24 hour, but I'm running ProtoGT this week.

That's obviously zero draft. Still... That's interesting if that is no draft and you're still that fast. Was that setup posted?

And lol. Totally my phone. But it's definitely a smart phone :p
