As of Feb 15, 2016, the Practice Pals schedule is as follows:
Firstly, I'll be adding numerical values to each and every Official Practice Pals Session. For example, Monday January 1, 2016 will be considered Practice Pals 1 with Tuesday being 2 and Fridays being 3.
This is 3 Official Practice Pals Sessions/week or about 156 Official Practice Pals Sessions annually.
Initially the numbering system was just to satisfy my curiosity over how many we've run but in actuality it can be used for much more. As an example, we can use it as a growth metric to monitor the ebb and flow of Drivers entering/leaving the program. This can help us a great deal in understanding what attracts Drivers and what doesn't.
League will also be considered an Official Practice Pal event as it only makes sense to funnel Drivers down this path. There is simply no point in running Practice Pals Sessions without there being some end goal toward the end of the week, League being that goal.
Plus it makes Practice Pals and our League synonymous which means over time our advertising is more effective without additional effort.
We'll also need to make a concerted effort to bring structure back to Practice Pals. As of late we've been Pitting Out whenever we Pit Out and it doesn't work in its current format.
The best racing has always been inverse Pit Out as everyone gets to experience traffic. We've gotten away from this format and I'd love it if we can bring it back.
It's just so much more entertaining to watch and always equates to more comms chatter as well. When we were doing this regularly we were attracting 30 - 40 viewers/session; now it's hard to maintain 15 viewers.
The more viewers we have the more chance we have of bringing people in which is always the end goal.
...and while on the vein of viewership, I'd like to try and cross promote streams a bit more this year.
At the same time I'd like to see if it's possible to embed multiple streams locally (on our website) to get people into the Community.
I've found a plugin for Wordpress that allows for embedding Twitch Streams virtually anywhere: https://wordpress.org/plugins/twitch-tv-embed-suite/
All around it we can run whatever styling, announcements or links to articles we want so this could represent a huge boost in onsite traffic.
I'll be adding a repeatable time-frame to all events as I want it as part of my Stream Program at Band of Others Twitch. Right now I'm leaning toward a time window of 3 hours per night Monday, Tuesday with Friday being about 5 hours in length.
The time frame EST is currently proposed to be 8PM to 11PM nightly, you all will have to let me know if this works.
Lastly, I'm currently mocking up League specific liveries for Band of Others/Practice Pals.
They carry the following side logo instead of Red B2O along with other changes in striping:
Most of all in 2016 I just want us to focus on taking this excellent program to the next level and explore all it's possibilities. It's brought some truly great people, memorable moments and side splitting humor so it only makes sense to take it to the next level.
- Monday night commencing 8 PM EST
- Wednesday night commencing 8 PM EST
- Friday night commencing 7:30 PM EST (League)
