lol so it's not even re-directing you to the forum, more the root of the website where no issues are present.

Nice.

I don't have an answer or even a guess as to why this would be a thing? The only thing I can do is re-install the forum as I intend to do and have you all test it on the new install.

As it is I'm more and more convinced that something happened to Xen during the server move to a new Host.

RE: INTERNAL SERVER ERRORS

Hey guys do me a favor, when you get an Internal Sever Error refresh the page with content on it and see if it will submit.

I just had this happen to me and a simple page refresh allowed me to post.

If it works in more instances then its likely a security token issue which should be easy enough to track down.

Thanks.

Refreshing makes no difference. I can't send you a medium sized PM of 338 words, regardless of how many times I refresh the page.

Alright figures, so much for the easy route

I should fucking know by now nothing is ever that simple.

Getting the "Internal server error" when I try to post the attached text in the Le Mans discussion topic. @Zac_Sonic, this is what I tried to reply to you :).

There must be some character in there that screws up the system somehow.

Did you try to put the contents of that file into the text field for the post? That's what gave me the error.
No I just attached it which is what I thought you were trying to do.

I know it's a txt file but what program was it done in? If it was in MS Word or a similar program it's almost certain there are hidden characters the forum won't like.

I can't get it to work either even when re-typing it so I have no idea what the problem could be?

I typed it here on the website so that is not it. Putting it in a text file was the only way I could get it on here :p (PM didn't work either). It must be one of those characters (=, HH:MM) which can't be parsed properly or something?

This is what happens when I try to edit the locked Le Mans post:

Editing works but when I then click "More options" I get the above.

That error page has been reported by another user previously and is most likely a security token issue of some kind. It seems to believe there is some type of cross site script exploit and is blocking the action.

Basically everything we're talking about here will only likely iron itself out if I re-install the site software I think. This would have been easy had that 3rd party addon not fucked things up beyond all repair.

If you guys can just bear with it a while longer I'll endeavor to get a test site up and configured in the next week or two.

My sincerest apologies folks, these are all issues that are somehow a direct result of moving to a new Server, Server config or something, not sure? There is just so much information on what it can be that I have no idea where to start at this point?

It's just better to wipe, start fresh and troubleshoot on a clean install.

This way at least we alleviate the software approach to most (if not all) problems.

Then it points to either server, db or both.

Ownership of the files remains assigned to the "old" user sometimes.

How did they perform the transfer? Just a 1 on 1 copy of the complete machine or just copied the folder containing your websites to a new node?

I have no idea how this is done as I've only ever done it once with WiredTree (our previous host).

I do agree it is a file ownership problem but how do I go about changing it sitewide?

As far as I've noticed XenForo is the only software experiencing issues, Wordpress and vB seem to be completely unaffected.
