Hehe, I stole a kitchen chair and put it in! Haven't found a nice foam pad for the seat yet, hence the cushions :D Will get me some foam and wrap it in a nice fabric ;)

Had some wood lying around in the garage and it took me an afternoon to wing it together.
Quite happy with it so far.

The table is electrically adjustable so i move it up and then I can roll the setup in under
and have the monitor at a comfortable height and distance.

Here is mine. Pondering if I should go triple screen sometime or wait for the vr helmets to become more sophisticated ...

What stick and throttle is that? Do the mounts come with it or are they something separate you bought?

This is the Thrustmaster Warthog mounted on Joyloc clamps. Both are awesome and highly recommended by me.

Nice. I sent them an email asking if they work with the CH Fighter stick and CH Pro Throttle. If they do I might get the pair, if they don't I'll go on looking!

I did think about buying the Warthog HOTAS but from what I understand there is no way to combine a Thrustmaster HOTAS with non Thrustmaster pedals to make a single virtual device. The CH stuff was bloody expensive and I don't want to have to buy a new set of pedals when I've got a perfectly decent CH set just for one feature. It's a shame because the one and only stick that is better than the CH Fighter stick is the Warthog.

Well, there is also the Saitek X65. It will probably do very nice however the design is different with force sensing technology.

AFAIK the clamps work with the CH HOTAS. Pricey stuff, but money well spent.

Regarding the Warthog you're right: there is no way to add any kind of pedals to make a single device. But that's not a problem for any sim I own (IL2, ROF, War Thunder, DCS series, Cliffs of Dover). Even good old IL2 supports up to 4 devices, so no problem there, too.

It's a bit of a problem for some games when they only see one device like BF3. Does ArmA2 support more than one device? I seem to remember it being a pain to configure them outside of a single virtual device.

To be honest though the CH Software is a pain in the ass. Much as I like my CH gear (i really cannot fault it!) the configuration of the devices either separately or as a virtual device has always been less than stellar in that CH Control Manager. The profile settings frustrate the hell out of me, especially when they're in combined mode.

I'm seriously tempted by the Warthog and those clamps.

Well, there is also the Saitek X65. It will probably do very nice however the design is different with force sensing technology.
I used to have Saitek stuff but they broke all the time, I just don't trust them. I've had my CH stuff since 2005 and it works as new! The only possible place I could go now is for a Thrustmaster Warthog.

The joycloc people were really unhelpful!

I asked them does my CH fighter stick and throttle fit. They returned with, on our site we have measurements so you can check.

I would have assumed that they'd have tried out the CH stuff and could give me an answer. I guess this is the excuse I need to sell my CH stuff and buy the joyloc and a Warthog!

Merry Christmas, Mondo :icon_cheesygrin:

I know you don't like Saitek, but the combat pedals are a nice piece of hardware. I was considering the simped f16 pedals, but they were out of stock at the time I was looking for my setup, so I gave Saitek a chance.

I've read they're ok but the more I think about it, I've already got the CH ones so I'll just sell my CH HOTAS and keep the pedals.

Here is my rig:

It's actually a refurbed Gateway that picked up 2 Black Fridays (2011) ago for $350; my older rig was really out of date and I wanted to keep up with BF3 so I built a gaming PC on a budget, but to my surprise it worked out quite well. For $350 I got:

Core i5 2400 Quad Core @ 3.1GHz
8GB DDR3 1333 (PC10600)
1TB 7200 RPM HDD
Basic Intel Motherboard
DVD/CD
Internal All-in-One Card Reader
Nifty Gateway Tower
Legit copy of Win7

What I added in:

OCZ ModXStream Pro 500W PSU ($30 after rebate)
AMD Raedon 6870 1GB
2 Extra Case fans
1x LG Flatron 2453V 24" Monitor

So for $500 I built (at the time with HDD prices through the roof) a $700-800 machine. Sure I'm limited with upgrades in the future, but that doesn't bother me too much.

As for my desk being empty, my Desktop is setup in my basement on a wheeled desk. I have it in the finished portion of my basement where I built my bar. Whenever I'm having company over in the bar I just unplug my desk from the wall and wheel it out the door; out of sight, out of mind.
