Cool, I need the help... :icon_lol:

Played for a about half an hour earlier, I literally have no idea what's going on. Was fun though, in a "what the hell is going on" kinda way :D

This was the sum total of my efforts :icon_redface:

We'll have some tips for you in TS :p

It's a fun little game though eh? Not bad at all for a 4 man team with just one programmer, I absolutely love the mud simulation they managed to create (imagine this mud in rally games, or farming simulator), it provides a lovely challenge, and each time you'll get stuck you'll have yourself to blame :D

Play on the coast map for some practice, that one is challenging but relatively easy.

Cool man will do. Finding the camera controls a bit fiddly at the moment. And have no idea what that different positions of the gear selector do? One just seems to stall the truck?

Also, what is the object of the game? I've driven towards what looks like a black tornado thinking it was a graphical bug then it said area unlocked or something like that.

Again, even though I have no idea what's going on, I love it :)

Look forward to playing this at the weekend, how many can you have in multiplayer?

The gears are quite easy, the upper left is second gear, which u have to enable when already moving.

Top right gear is Automatic, in hardcore the diflock doesn't work this way.

Middle left is manual 1 and 1+ which is the most used gear.

The most close gear would be reverse, and u can quickselect the gear lever by pressing R.

Yeah, you need to unlock those cloaking points to make the map visible (F1). The ultimate goal is to haul wood from place A to place B (see the map), you need to deliver 8 points to the objective point(s), where short logs are worth 2 points, medium 4 and long logs 6. At the garages you can change trucks around for different functions (hauling wood, fuel, repairs or garage points) you can unlock more garage(s) on the map by bringing garage points there, and unlock trucks scattered around the map by driving close to them) On the map you can hop from truck to truck (if unlocked).

That's all in a nutshell ;) Doing it all is quite a challenge, ultimate goal is to unlock, uncloak everything and deliver all wood, though you can finish a map by just delivering the wood.

There's an experimental branch on steam now for spintires, and I must say I'm liking it. Hardcore mode is more hardcore now, you won't get full fuel at garages anymore (you'll need to fully fuel up at the fuel stations), and driving with difflock on at hard on and off road surfaces will cause damage (you'll get a warning first). Also theres some extra's for multiplayer (trucks used by other players will leave a ghost image after they are switched from) and there's also a bunch of praphical upgrades (less grainy, more sharp, and heat effects from exhaust). I'm actually quite liking it.

Here's the full beta branch change log;

31/10/14
- Sharpen image filter
- Ghosts for all player trucks
- Option to capture screenshots without HUD
- Fixed multiplayer inter-truck collisions issues

01/11/14
- Minor truck physics tweaks
- Heat haze effect

05/11/14
- Diff lock now does increase fuel consumption, but damages truck + visuals for diff lock damage
- Winch truck now automatically accelerates when player accelerates
- If winching trucks' trailer, tractor will accelerate in accel mode
- Individual map saves
- Sharpen effect & heat haze tuning
- Cursor hotspot fixed in full screen
- Fuel tankers auto-refueled at garages and gas stations properly
- Fisherman achievement obtained by cheating fixed
- More steering wheels support
- Only show servers with appropriate version
- Maz-535 original look

The new free map is here! :D

Good day off-roaders,

As 2014 comes to a close - we would like to thank all of our fans for supporting us and would like to look back over the year. We have experienced good days and we have experienced hard days - while we can only wish for a walk in the park, we must face the truth that there will always challenges to contend with.

With the success of Spintires and further expansion of the game planned - we see that we couldn't have come this far without the support of all of you. Every day is a learning curve and every day is different - it is now that we should learn from the past so we can move successfully into the future.

Going forward into 2015, we look to see the release of mod support... a feature that has been patiently awaited by you all. Furthermore, both paid and free downloadable content will be makings it's way to you all, where new maps, trucks and game modes will be creating a longer playable life span to the game.

There is much to be enjoyed in 2015 and we hope that you will continue to support us on our journey, creating Spintires for you all to enjoy.

As it is that time of year to share good will and presents - as a Christmas present from everyone at Oovee Game Studios and IMGN.PRO, we are sharing with you a free map called 'The Pit'.

Before we leave to spend the holidays with our families, we would like to wish you all Happy holidays and a fantastic New Year!

All I want from this game is a cabin view with working gauges, arms, hands (feet and torso would be nice too) and Track IR support!

It would be perfect for me then.

New map is nice though :)

New update! The previous one was pretty much borked, so lets see if this one is better...

Hi there everyone!

We have pushed live as Default Public Build (Stable) new build that contains brand new map called Flood.
You will also find 4 new achievements to unlock!

Unfortunately along with this build The Pit map becomes unavailable as it will need the code update - sorry for that.

Change list for the build:
added map: Flood
added truck trailers: garage cart and utility cart
added XML inheritance, added type C-6522 blue version
added pole wires
added icons for map borders
settings tweaked for some trucks/trailers
increased draw distance for leaves lying on ground

P.S. For all that long the Pit and other mods/maps, please check the Legacy branch in Steam Betas tab.

The results on the steam forum are quite.....different from what i would have expected.
Seems no game dev can ever do the right thing, if you base it on the comments there.

Oh yeah, after the problems with pavel (the game dev) and ovee, the forums turned into whiners wallhalla. I hope that will die down a bit now pavel and ovee have kissed and made up again. I'm not even getting into some discussion there, there has been so much misinformation and bias in some threads I'd rather step into a manure pit then in those discussions...

Still love the game, and the new flood map is an absolute challenge whe you first start playing it, it is a huge challenge finding a way across the flooded planes, you start with no unlocked garage, and you have a kamaz with cart (new!) on road tires to get there. Very frustrating, the flooded parts are a minefield with submerged fallen trees, but boy what a lovely challenge...

Here are the patch notes for the patch that should hit today, if not soon.

25/01/15
-all maps improved
-volcano map remade!
-log cart for big MAZ truck
-rotation marker lights instead of old "static red lights"
-honking added (environment reacts properly)
-daytime lighting improved (more variations, transitions within single day)
-mud physics improved: heavy vehicles (e.g. MAZ) extrude terrain faster
-ferns break into chunks

29/01/15
-fireflies added for luminescent flowers
-damage only affects truck behaviour in hardcore mode; damaged behaviour changed
-various UI, gameplay, sound, visual fixes and improvements

30/01/15
-utility cart added for ZIL
-stumps now break into pieces
-new sounds and SFX improvements

Here's a video showing off some of the new features too. Most striking is the engine much more prone to stalling when heavily damaged, in hardocre mode. Also, heavier trucks get stuck easier now, as they sink deeper in the mud. However, atthe same time it's made easier to get out of the mud in low gear (manual gear 1). And Duke was right all along. There are birds in every game!

Post about it when you do a group game and I'll try and join. Not played since myself and Shilka demonstrated how to lose trees in mud and run out of fuel sideways.

Well, the patch is out, and I'm loving it. The trucks have much more weight to them now, and if you spin your tires in high gear you'll be digging your grave real quickly...

Here's what happend to me in an -unloaded- C truck, when I went flying into a moderately (not even very) soft spot in high gear... One half second of wheelspin, and in the mud to the top of my tires :D

2015-02-06_00001.jpg

The game just got challenging again, and hopefully (haven't tried yet) the D and E truck will be challenging too, with their weight counting against all their advantages!

Oh, and add to the patch notes above:

04/02/15
-sounds improved
-special effects improved
-logs now react to mud (gets wet and dirty too)
-more changes to damaged truck mechanics and visuals
-gamepad layout changed a bit
-more changes to maps
-some trucks configurations changed/improved/fixed
-minor changes to ingame UI
