Yeah... I didn't think I was confused... until now...

6 Hours of the Glen is definitely an IMSA (essentially NASCAR) sanctioned race in real life that will take place on July 1st, 2018.

The iRacing Endurance Le Mans Series (iELMS based off the ACO-sanctioned World Endurance Championship) will be wrapping up Season 2 at Watkins Glen with a 6-hour race on June 2nd-3rd, 2018.

Those are a month apart, so I'm not sure we can say those events are intentionally scheduled that way for one to emulate the other. Unless, of course, you're a GTE driver, in which case 6 hours of dodging prototypes around Watkins Glen is 6 hours of dodging prototypes around Watkins Glen... But the GTE class is the only class 100% homologated between NASCAR's IMSA and ACO's WEC.

ooooohhhh, that means I am definitely going to run that race. Glen will be ridiculous in LMP1, but I'm up for any chass. Das Boot :D

Hey all. I don't know if there's been any talk of the Le Mans race coming up but I didn't see much discussion about it here on the forums. Just wondering what's up. I was interested in the possibility of running.

No LeMans this year, at least not in old date. LeMans24h was moved to LeMans series, Its still 24h but it will be later this year, not sure when.
Next special event is Spa 24h

This is info I know, maybe something changed, if so, somebody will know

I guess I did not realize Le Mans wasn't running right before the actual race. I wonder if they're doing it to delay for dynamic day/night?

Thanks.

Looks like "Special events" are being moved into respective series, which kind of makes sense, but there'll be no more "special" races :p

Figured I would leave this here for now and make a separate thread once we get closer to the race. Mike Oullette (guy who runs the Majors series) is running a Bathurst 500 for his series on Sunday. Before that he is running a Bathurst 1000 for the community with multiple splits decided by qualifying. I'm running both hopefully but won't know for sure about the 1000 until we get closer to the race. Regardless, I'll be practicing for the 500 for the Major Series. @Skid_Marc_ @Nejtun @Kenadian @Noodleguitar @Fromthenavy
