If you've played any of these games you realize you're just barely running a business. You have loan payments and expenses to deal with but all are automated and add little to nothing to the game. The only reason to have a company at all is to be more profitable and buy more stuff, aside from that it's a background task at best.Where do you get RPG from? I never said anything about that...
You're running a business, something it's touted to do since at least ETS. You can hire more drivers, buy trucks for your fleet, etc, so it sounds like TO ME it is trying to be a driving sim with a truck business sim.
So why is it so much for me to ask that that aspect of the game be much much better? Not to mention the basic premise of the game is taking jobs that require an economy, and there's no real economy, so how can you run a business?
From an income standpoint you can hire drivers with different abilities/skillsets and then you pretty much never interact with them again except to fire the odd underachieving pleb or two.
The only actual economy in the game is quite shallow in terms of how you choose what to haul and where.
...and yes you never did come out and say you wanted an RPG but that's exactly what you're asking for.
An economy system means that every single trip will require much more in the way of planning to ensure you've got the most economical route possible while yielding the highest returns.
Now add this to a Company (or several companies) with multiple drivers and you're no longer a driver because you're too busy working out what your drivers should be doing.
This game is simply built around driving and it does that pretty well.
