Yup I noticed that Mr Sam gahbloghenblaugha :)

It looks like we have the makings of at least 2 or possibly 3 Porsche Teams.

Personally I'd like to be part of a bigger Team if possible because I'd hate to do 6 stints around here. I think I can manage 4 but any more is just too exhausting lol.

I may have to break down and buy gloves for this, my hands are taking a beating (among other things).

i'd prefer a small team. i genuinely wouldn't even mind a 2-man team but 3 is fine too.

this might be a selfish idea so i'm sorry if it is :)
but we could make teams sorting it by difference in skill between drivers. since we have quite some entries already and hopefully more soon. maybe we have a chance to compete in top split? get the B2O name out there :)

It's not selfish at all Sam, everyone likes what everyone likes.

You never have to apologize for personal preference.

Incidentally I think I got under 10 seconds away from your time with plenty left on the track. With a few trouble spots I think I have the basis of understanding of track layout so now it's a matter of getting comfortable in the trouble areas while improving my line overall.

I will say though the set I was using last night, although stable, is very under-steering and I think could benefit from a small drop in wing. I'll probably also drop the brake bias a bit now that I'm a bit more familiar in the car as it was 48 if I remember correctly.

porsche is mostly about driver preference i feel. i bet you right now that the setup i drive is at least twice as understeery xD but i drive 41% brake bias to compensate for bad turning. understeery setup means quick and aggresive throttle (something the porsche needs). only bad thing 41% brake bias brings with it is a longer braking zone.

which is weird right? since usually less brake bias is shorter brake zone right?

anyway thx for understanding my opinion ;) <3

anyone want my setup?

I would rather drive on a larger team as well. I prefer not to double stint on the Ring if possible and triple stint would be killer. Keep in mind that the Porsche is slower but is better on fuel. We were getting about 9.7 laps on a tank on VLN. So would think you could come close to getting 9 laps on the 24HR config but need to do some fuel runs. I may have a couple of additional drivers, will let you know soon hopefully.

I usually feel the same way Sam. I always like it if we're all part of a big team and are all focused on the same race. But on the other hand, for such big events it feels weird to drive 2 stints now and then in 16 hours another 2 stints or something like that. Almost like running two races.

Two-manning would be a bit much for me because I have stuff to prepare before the Monday after the race so I would like to get some sleep in there somewhere. Also, 3-manning means some drivers won't have a spotter at times.

Top split might be possible. We got in there at Sebring but we weren't in the most popular class that race.

i'm fine with running without spotter and i barely need sleep since i have no responsibilities yet (fkn love being unemployed and waiting for college). 3 sounds fine to me. so we need one more driver :). unless 2 people are faster than me then i won't even be in our top team xD

top split would be the dream but 2nd split is not bad either when the porsche is the prefered car.

I'd also like to drive on the larger team, if we form one. Six hours is about all I can do in a single day with my daughter around. Even that's pushing it to "bad dad" territory.

I'm in for the Porsche as well.
added to the growing list :)

i'm just putting people by their B2O name now since i'm tired of having to look up a full name :p

also @Deb i was running 9 laps flat on VLN
(+-)11L per lap 9x11 is 99. so if you can run 9,7 on VLN you must be really fuel efficient. i think i won't be able to run more than 8 laps on 24h combined but it might depend of different weather? so yeah doing some full fuel runs wouldn't hurt for sure :)

Hey all, I will be around for the whole 24 hours but can't race this one (again!) as I will have had surgery 2 days before it (again dammit!). but I shall be in TS as much as possible.

On a side note, my schedule says nothing for the weather which normally means default. all the events in the schedule that are not afternoon weather say so next to the cars included. Just mentioning this because the session up for practice pals was morning right? Perhaps i was just tired but i seem to remember mentioning it, and ken saying that his chat had told him the weather for the race, they may have been confused with next weeks Porsche Cup week 5 event which is at the same circuit but morning weather.

I will attach my version of the special events schedule but if someone has a newer one or one that specifies weather for that event then please correct me below!

one of the threads in the forum was made by a player http://members.iracing.com/jforum/posts/list/3514745.page (robin esterson) and he has it down as morning, might be worth finding out which it is as the track feels pretty different between the two.

Starts: Rolling
Time of Day: Morning
Weather: Default (Temperature: 78° F, Wind Speed: N @ 2 MPH, Atmosphere: 55 RH, 0% Fog Cover, Skies: Partly Cloudy)
Field size: 60 cars
Race length: 24 Hours (1440 min.)

pulled this straight from the iracing forums so i assume this hass been confirmed: the 24h will be raced in the morning ;)

i don't recall our practice session being morning? i tought it was afternoon, not sure though.

it's good to know that week 5 porsche cup will also be driven in the morning so we can get some good experience there.

also only 60 cars :( that's gonna suck with only 15 cars per class IMO
