iRacing Endurance Races 2015

I'm fine with training, but i wouldn't race with someone else's account.
It's only 1 thing i have to screw up to put a smudge on your name....as far as that hasn't been done by yourself :p

I'll make sure i get some races in this afternoon, it should atleast get me into D by tonight.

Then i have another 3 days to get to D4.00 and be eligible... albeit right on the edge.

I'm sorry Quick but this is nobodies fault but your own lol.

You've had 9 months to get out of Rookies. You probably hold the record in iRacing for being the longest Rookie in history.

Yeah, sorry for telling you it required a D license only. I checked again and in the schedule it shows a required Rookie 4.0, but on the website it requires a D 4.0.

It's definitely doable if you do a decent amount of driving. You don't need perfect races to gain safety rating in the lower licenses. And if you get to D 4.0, you will end up as C 3.0 instantly so there is no danger of falling back to D.

I checked Trading Paints again, the McLaren and BMW teams still don't show up :(.
I did change the website McLaren paint to red/black so that it looks recognisable in the results.

I was going for that title yeah!

No worries Noodle as Dorothy already said it's my own fault :p

It is your own fault lol. You've got to get up past Rookie to even make the League. We won't be letting anyone in who isn't a minimum of D-Class so putting you in when we're live just won't look good.

Get on it!

BTW, you can also run TT's and I'd be remiss if I didn't say they are invaluable to new Drivers trying to license up. You can even complete your MPR on TT's alone and get a feel for getting through the track cleanly.

I think TT's helped get me into higher splits that much sooner so my Rookie Driving experience was cleaner than most.

+1 for Time Trials. Do them now while they will heavily affect your SR (as you get higher, the affect of TTs are a lot less). Just don't run hot laps, run very clean laps, and you'll be in D within 2-3 TTs.

At one point early in my career I was getting to the point of running an entirely clean TT session (30 minutes) that would gain me around .20 SR. And I have to bet that that was much after rookies and D.

0 incident that shit man. I did mazda races starting from the pits to get out of rookies and a few 0inc races got me the D...

err D class

Yes I should have said, low to no incident TT's. Getting 2 or 3 Incident points is enough to make running TT's prohibitive so Practice first and find the line then focus on clean (first and foremost) in TT.

Do the endurance races still have super OP SR gain? I did one once and gained a ton of SR in it.

Now that it's C class I might have to go them again.

I don't know why they wouldn't and there's no real way to "fix" it. SR is driven by your CPI, or corners per incident. The more corners you take without an incident, the higher your safety rating goes.

There's a graph on the forums you can find to figure out how many corners you need to run per incident to get certain levels. A 4.99 class A needs to run 171 corners for every 1x. A D class 3.00 you need 22.5 corners for every 1x.

Remember that CPI is driven by only a driver's last 10-15 races. That is how your average will fluctuate quite a bit.

Doesn't the CPI also change based on your licence vs the licence of the series?

I really need to just grind out my MPR to get my B licence. Been sitting at a mid 4 c licence for a while now...

No it doesn't really change. CPI is CPI. You need progressively more and more corners per 1x to continually move your SR upwards.

Here's the chart I was talking about:
CPI.PNG

In order to hold at least a 2.00 A license you need 38 corners per 1x. That means once you get there you'll neither gain nor lose it if you do 38 corners and on the next corner go off track.

It might be confusing because one clean lap at Spa (20 corners) is almost enough to maintain a 3.00 D license, but for me at A 4.00 license, I need 4 clean laps just to maintain. AKA the guy at 3.00 D only has to do at least 2 clean laps for every 1x he gets and he'll still gain SR. For me I can only get an offtrack every 4 laps. If I get even just one 4x car contact, I need 16 clean laps just to make sure my SR stays the same.

EDIT: MISSPOKE. I would need 6 clean laps, not 4, to maintain my current 4.00 A @ Spa. And to counteract a 4x, I'd need 24 clean laps.

Some people run Endurance just because of the SR boost. I'm pretty sure it's one of the main reasons that people were upset about GT3 dropping the 75 minute format, they're terrific for SR farming.

Teams we made yesterday showed up today in tradingpaints just now for me :)

Do people really only view it as an SR farm? I mean yeah I think the SR system is too lax, I think it should be even more strict (harder to reach the higher classes) but I would not target the length of races as the reason. If someone races a 3 hour race with only 6x... that's pretty damn clean to me, why shouldn't they get a boost to their SR?

That's interesting I always thought the series licence requirement also made a difference. Always seemed like the lower classes like skippies the cpi was much higher than something like gt3 sprint series. But maybe I just get more off tracks in the Skippy :p

That's just the way I heard it put out there so I can't say for sure.

I only ever did one 75 minute race at Road Atlanta and got a pretty decent SR boost for it even though I lost control once and tagged a wall (0x I think).

I think these type of comments always come from decent drivers who make pretty decent gains in longer events. If you're a clean and consistent driver then longer stints can make a huge difference whereas if you're a train wreck they can spell SR disaster.

In GT3 there is a higher than normal percentage of train wrecks lol.

Gj quick!

When I ran a 3hr event at Montreal I think I got a full 2pts with 15ish incidents. Being that there is no irating change it really is an Sr farm for many people
