I don't "articulate" without a good reason
In regards to fixed vs open, I've made my observation and opinion regarding that, you're replied and that was last I've said anything except that I won't run it. Even if I wanted to, I can't as I don't have time because of school. I barely find time to run a league every 2 weeks as is.
If you took that same driver that you're racing with closely, you will 99% race him closely in open setup too, unless the setups you're driving fit very well with one driver and not at all with another, which will make one more comfortable and other not so much (which is why I do not like baseline, not my style of driving required by it). I could even argue fixed is actually worse as it benefits some drivers, while detrimental to others, which is where open comes in where setup will make every driver comfortable. If a wheel analogy doesn't explain that, I am not sure how else I can explain it to you.
Maybe this helps: I drive HPD as much as I can as I actually enjoy driving the car because it is so different, high downforce at speed, very little mechanical grip at low speed, requiring very fine/precise handling, all of which varies vastly between drivers with same results. That is why I can take a setup from John Ulmer and race him at Mosport, but if I take Allan Patterson's, I'll understeer into a wall, while Allan will carry on battling with John. All 3 of us have very similar lap times in the end, when driving comfortable/suiting setups.
Ken, I don't think I can explain this to you anymore or force it on you to understand, but I encourage you to ask guys faster than me that you know (Reinaldo, Nathan Schartner, etc), they're the ones I've learned from.
