Went to see Monster Jam yesterday, absolutely epic show! Saw my favourite truck Max-D in action along with the legendary Grave Digger, saw a backflip. It was my first time seeing these full blooded monster trucks from across the pond (they don't come here very often because logistics) so to say I was excited would be an understatement ;) I've always been obsessed with monster trucks for some reason, dunno why. The 5 hour trip was worth it, they really put on a great show considering the heavens opened with rain earlier in the day so the arena was soaked. Fortunately it was warm and dry when we were in the stadium though! Great day out and thoroughly recommended if you have an interest in obscenely powerful V8's being let loose flying through the air

Was too busy screaming my head off to take many pictures but got a few o_O

The new Hypercar rules sound badass. I'm not an auto racing historian and my knowledge is limited in that regard but there seems to be echoes of a modern day GT1 specification. Aston Martin and Toyota have already announced their intentions. Aston Martin will be running its Valkyrie and Toyota running its GR Super Sport which I hear will be front-wheel drive. I honestly was nervously unsure what these new regulations were going to bring but I'm all kinds of excited now. What do you guys think?

I think they sound cool, but I'm sad they are happening at the expense of LMP1. I think there is something special about purpose built, bespoke race cars that gets lost when every car has to be homologated to a production car, even if that production car is a low production run hyper car.

My cable carrier (Spectrum) carries Motor Trend TV so I've been able to watch some of the race since returning from vacation last evening. Kinda surprising to me this is not getting more coverage.

Been watching Nürburgring 24h for on and off, it has been an interesting race.

Piana was a dick for blocking and got the puncture he deserved.

Kelvin van der Linde usually seems to drive too aggressively (at least in iRacing). Did he ruin that Audi by driving too fast on a punctured tire?

The BMW that tried to enter the pits with his hood up was amazing. Waiting for that clip to be on YouTube :D

re: The 24 Hours at Nurbs: Crappy way for Manthey Racing to lose a race they dominated. Laurens Vanthoor was very contrite, knew he had made the mistake...just blah. I know why the rules exist, and why they are important...but when you see people lose races they've dominated over technicalities it's never fun. Still good work by Phoenix Racing to have their Audi in the position to capitalize. Interesting that it was Laurens little brother, Dries, who drove the #4 Audi to victory at the end.

I shouldn't have laughed when I saw that yesterday, but I did...a lot. The fact that he got stuck, and it took two marshalls and a truck to finally extricate the car, was the cherry on top.
