B2O iRacing 24H of Nürburgring Team Discussion

yeah i ran VRS too beautifull fast setup, bit loose though.

as of now i prefer vrs setup over yours noël (i ran 2 sprint races). even though with both setups i was faster than everybody else :)

edit: 3 victories in a row now :eek:

however i can clearly see the potential of your setup noël in endurance races since it has better tire wear and is incedibly tight (therefore consistent IMO). i will give it another good shot when we start practicing in morning with 100L. but for now i'm gonna stick to VRS.

note: your setup feels a bit like my VLN setup (insane throttle-on understeer no wheelspin) so i do like it, but it just feels a bit slower.

All, are we going to be practicing 24HR tonight? Looks like Bedo is back in, sounded like he will be able to practice tonight and thinks his schedule will be significantly clear on Saturday (unless the baby comes early).

Also, on setup, the attached setup is from Wyatt. Those of you using the VRS set might want to give it a try, it actually has better turn in than the VRS set. I think wing could probably be dropped some, but seems this is setup that works well for most.

Thanks Deb, will try it out for a few laps.

I've done a few races in default afternoon and recently tried out the VRS setup. It took me some getting used to and I like it better in parts of the track but in other parts I like my setup better.

On the GP circuit I'm not a fan of the VRS setup; it seems to struggle when going on the power, especially coming out of the chicane before the Nordschleife entrance. On the other hand I think I'm quite a bit faster in the part after Kesselchen straight, especially in the karussell and through Wippermann. I think this is mainly because of a higher ride height and/or more camber.

Hopefully with some testing (in combination with Wyatt's setup) I might be able to find something that has the best of both worlds.

I'm available pretty much whenever I'm needed, though the start of the race is super early for me. My preferred times would be 8 AM - 12 PM PST, and then any time after 4 PM PST. That lets me get a normal nights sleep and have a couple of hours in the afternoon to be a only-slightly-better-than-terrible parent.

anytime is good for me and i'm able to double stint no problem.

actually about that, i wanted to test something tonight: double stinting tires. i know the tires don't wear too much after the first 2 laps or so. maybe it's a viable strategy? or at least for the top team.

i'll try to make some time for tonight shouldn't be too much of a problem, but i'm having some troubles with my knee :(

Do the tyres and fuel get changed at the same time Sam? If so then 14 lap old tyres aren't going to gain you anything toward the end of the stint. if they add 30 seconds to the stop however then it is worth seeing if you can do the same lap times on lap one as lap 15/16

they get changed one after the other. and it takes about 20-30 sec to my knowledge.

so seeing as how you will only be driving 8 laps per stint you can afford to lose, 20/8=2,5 sec per lap on average and still be faster.

completely random but this just came up in my mind: does iRacing simulate blown tires?

oooooh, 2.5 seconds a lap is not an issue , but throwing the car into the wal if the tyres are wrecked is not cool, going to have to find a 2 hour session and test this out

However if you are giving away that 2.5 sec per lap AND have a dangerous car then nothing has been saved , the lap times need to remain the same
