DCS World updated

Well I did a quick flight in the Mustang, managed to land it on my second attempt, but didn't know what key the wheel brakes were assigned to so I kind of emergency drifted to a stop with a subsequent broken propeller... but at least I landed it.

DCS must of had some graphical updates since I last played as it looked absolutely gorgeous...

Looking forward to flying with you all!

lol that looks perfect to me... any landing you walk away from is good one?!

I'm so tempted to get the Spit and the WW2 assets and map and finally the campaign. I'll definitely pick all that up in the next sale, and obviously the Tomcat is nearly here, that will be a must buy for me.

For now I'll just enjoy my new found ability to manually fire up a Mustang thanks to you

p.s. thanks again to Jeeve, I love my livery for the Flying Fury!

One of many moments from last night was being told how to flip the rear view mirror down as I'm flying level, only to see Elektro literally fill it flying vertically past me in a bloody F-15 jet with a roar that made me bloody jump out of my chair lol

I'm glad you convinced me to get into it, @Wapwap and @Kenadian and anyone else with a flight stick you need to get this and get flying with us, it's a blast (literally as we all found out many times... "Oh that was a real tree then" ;))!

I love just taking off and landing in this training Mustang, nearly got the landings down now. I won't stop trying until I can land it without any bumping up back in the air though. Going for the smoooooth landings...

Just for a quick reference, here is a start up video for the P51-D Mustang, this also works for the free TF-51.
Thanks to @Jeeve79 for the quick start lesson and the paint! hope this helps as the in game training is kinda drawn out.
This is a really good video, you should do a series of these for all the planes you fly... maybe one for the Spit? Pretty please?

Spitfire is actually a piece of cake to start up, I will do one for that , but i am gonna use the VR hands as it is quite nice for highlighting the little switches for start ups

Right , here we go, tried the thing with the VR hands , but it didn't work out ( it looked shit :D ) so hopefully this will help you start the spitfire.

I messed with the youtube studio thingies at the end as I wanted to link to another video and put a subscribe button in , it takes a while to process that so not sure how that worked out.

Here it is :)

Nice one EV, I made myself a cup of tea and started going through the tutorial for the Spitfire, a day off couldn't have come at a better time for me!

I've never felt more English, I've got a cup of tea on the go, some biscuits to dunk and made some crumpets for lunch while learning how to start up and take off in the magnificent Spitfire.

Landing will require some practice I think...

We're having fish and chips for dinner too - WHAT WHAT!

Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast

oh and I'm just going to leave this little gem from one of my favourite movies here

- "What can I do to help? Is there anything you need?"

- "Yes, a squadron of Spitfires"

LOVE IT

So hype for the viper. Instabuy for me.

Will be grabbing more jets before the sale ends. Awesome stuff.

@Nejtun learned how to "land" on a carrier today :D He'll tell you some story about it being "expert and professional". Rubbish lies. He barely made it....but he did make it ;)

The Viper is an immediate purchase for me. I have almost 1000 hours of seat time in the F-16 in BMS. It's like a second home.

What Matt failed to mention is that not only did I have the cool calm collection of a buddhist monk on approach , but I landed, If you might imagine, with the grace of a butterfly gliding in on a feather and landing on a cloud.

I also managed this with no computer aid similar to Luke Skywalker using the force to get a proton torpedo down the exhaust port of the Deathstar. I am surprised the airforces of the world were not on the phone clamouring for my services tbh.
