@Jes_971 cool, I am going to be at PP tonight , there is a new set I am going to test which is for this circuit rather than Bathurst, but unless it is significantly different ( much more stable and faster with it) we will stick with what we have.

@Deb the race has the normal start time for all the endurances we do which is 13:00 GMT (09:00 Eastern)
30 minutes warmup
@Skid_Marc_
*NEW* Qually is now a 45 minute session throughout the week goes off every hour
200 Incident count
EU servers
Race weather: Static (Default) Sky Dynamic
Bear in mind the temps should still change over the time of day so 40 degrees at the start and could drop down as low as 18 degrees at night as far as I understand it, correct me if I am wrong on that one.

EVERYONE please try to throw down a qualifying lap at some point in the week!

@Nejtun, I know what time the race starts, I mean what time iRacing will set it to start, like will be set to start at 3:00 in afternoon so dark comes for you around 1:00 PM est? Like they have now been setting the races at a particular time and date for dynamic weather. Just wondering what that time was. @Skid_Marc_ has it on the first page as 15:40 but with a question mark, just wondering if that has now been decided.

I'm still completly unable to control the car. Switching brake bias of the Merc didn't change anything for me. So sadly I can't compete with that setup. I'm in danger of losing the car each braking zone and don't feel safe at anytime. Looks like it's completely inappropriate for my driving style.

So I decided not to compete in the race. The danger of crashing it is way to high.

Thanks for the chance and wish you all the best for the race!

(Hope this post will work, I tried to answer twice in the last couple of days and just got an error message each time.)

Unfortunate, but if you are still willing to, did you try putting the wing to 5? We have been driving it on wing 5 as it is more stable.

Is there anything that prevents us from having one set of pressures for day and one set for night since we can adjust pressures during a pit stop?

Also, when a cloud rolls around, things get noticeably grippier very quickly. Didn't get a chance to practice much last night but I seem to be in the :33s on a clean lap with a bunch of fuel. Traffic seems to offset the pace quite a bit. GT3 drivers are not always very nice. :/
151f/148r seems good for day, 145f/141r for night. The car will feel a lot grippier if the track cools down, but a cooler track means the tires get worked up to a higher pressure so we don't want to push the limit then have them go over pressure because the sun got covered for awhile. So 148f/145f might be safer for morning/late afternoon or if there's a lot of cloud cover. Basically whatever keeps the hot pressure from going too far above 190 kpa

I personally like a hot pressure around 187 it seems like, but using Jarrad Filsells data packs on VRS, it looks like really fast drivers might find the knife edge of getting a bit above 190 manageable and find it offers more speed. Obviously though, I dont have the pace of a pro simracer to test that.

No, I didn't. I only used your setup and made various adjustments later on (ARB, Diff,...). I'll give it a try tomorrow.

I'm giving your v3 a try

Also it seems like different pressures work better for different tracks. Suzuka this week seems to like 192-193 for fast times, Mid-Ohio was about 187-188. You might have to fiddle with it and see what works best. Your pressures will be fully up after the first lap, especially after the final straight, so you should be able to compare results from just your first timed lap.

Awesome, let me know if it feels better! Stuck with a good bit of work tonight so I can't be there for practice pals but hopefully I'll catch you guys sometime this week.
Feels a lot better. The only gripe I have with the setup is the brake bias. I tend to get hard on the brakes in T1 and I spin out quite easily. I'm able to do just fine with the bias around 48-49. Don't know what you guys prefer or if its intentionally setup this way, or I just don't know how to brake.

I haven't had issues with it, but I'm also on a loadcell brake so maybe that helps. It's really helps to counter the aero understeer through the high speed kinks. General strategy with this car is brake hard in a straight line but baby the brake if it's turning or you'll start getting some death wobbles. Braking into the hairpin at Suzuka has been really testing my ability to do that haha. Maybe try to focus more on rolling into the corner rather than trying to attack the brakes.

Building on Suzuka's hairpin as an example. This was a 2:02.6 I did last night that I busted my ass off for haha. You can see my inputs on the right. Even with the steering wheel at -11 degrees entering towards the hairpin entry, I have to ease off the brake to keep it stable. Then ass the steering input evens out, much harder on the brakes, only right turn input during the heavy braking there is really to counter the camber of the entrance and to set up for turn in.

The first pump in helps turn the car in at first, but you want to bleed off and then you can see at the actual hairpin the bleed off as you start to turn in more. That last pump of brake was probably me realizing I was about to miss the apex and trying to get just a little bit more turn in. and that's a pump of like 10%, it really doesn't take much. This video might be a good listen or watch if you find the time, guy who's raced the car in real life and in iRacing goes over how he approaches driving it, not sure how much of it has changed since this video but maybe still worth a listen:

I'll have to practice some more. I have HE pedals and it should help, but now that I look, wow you brake gently.

Yeah, that hairpin is sensitive haha, maybe it'll get better over the week, I'm trying to work on how fast my footwork is, it loses me a bit of time when comparing to faster guys. However I don't think it's as bad as it looks since I have a lot of overlap between my left and right foot application, but could still be a lot better.

Here you can see Noel's telemetry for T1. Dude is absolutely insane on brake application. He also has *very* little steering input, 2 or 3 degrees at most, and bleeds off for just a little bit of turn in. You don't need to be gentle on the brake, you just need to stop before you go over the threshold.

Also, those graphs are scaled differently, mine is over a shorter distance so it looks like I'm being super gentle on the brake application because the graph scales it up, but you can see the distance in meters below the graph, it's not too far off. Here's my T1, Noel is still way better at it obviously but you can see where I'm at

Incident limit has changed again, its now 240 . Not going to bother checking that race info page anymore before Saturday morning lol. it will just change again when they flip another coin

10 incident points an hour sounds about good. If anyone is running 20 incident points an hour consistently by the 12th hour, they're *probably* being a nuisance lol
