@QuadroMan1 I'll try to setup VRS tonight so I can compare with you guys. How are you guys setup in VRS, are you in a team or have to do anything special other than let VRS capture the lap?
It's just a program that runs in the background and records your iRacing telemetry. It starts uploading once you get out of the car. You just have to give someone the email address you sign up with on VRS and we can invite you to the team, however unless you pay a subscription fee, your access to team data will be cut short to 4h in one sitting. I already pay for VRS for all the other features, the team stuff is just a nice bonus.

Cool, I'll try to set it up tonight and will pm you my email address. I've ran it before just never really used it and haven't had time to poke around on how it works with teams.

I'm off today, waiting for my DD1 to be delivered...so I'll probably practice some during the day if anyone's around.

@Deb per an accelerated practice session that I ran this morning for in-sim "May 4th, 2019"...

In-sim race time starts at 15:35 -ish (8:35am CDT)
Sunset in-sim time: 21:00 (2:00pm CDT)
Full Dark in-sim: 22:00 (3:00pm CDT)
End Full-Dark in-sim: 05:00 (10:00pm CDT)
Sunrise in-sim: 06:00 (11:00 CDT)

9.5 hours of racing left once the sun rises in-sim.

Also, are we going to start out the 24 Hours of Nurburgring with; "May the Fourth be With You?"

What pedals do you have?
Fanatec Loadcell pedals, the issue is that the way I mounted the pedals means the back holes don't line up with anything on my rig to screw into, they're only attached on the front, so they're kind of lifted in the back and press down when I press the brake, meaning some of the force from pressing the brake is lost to that flexing. It seems like the initial press carried more force but after peaking it would drop back down, giving me that floaty brake input. I fixed it by just jamming a thick washer under the brake pedal because they were a nightmare to even get mounted the way they are now.

That works! :)

I managed to do a few laps and posted an 8:33. This time I eased on my braking and the bias was not a problem. Seems like I was fighting the car too much at first. When I eased off and sort of let it do its thing, it was much better. I'm not as fast as you guys but I'm starting to get it. It's a great car to drive. Really engaging.

If you just did a few laps and posted an 8:33, you're definitely faster than me lol. My 8:33 and 8:31 were really pushing beyond a comfortable race pace. I just finished a smooth stint in one of the official day sessions where I tried my hardest not to look at the delta on my car's tach. I managed to run back to back 8:38s, minus an 8:39 and an 8:37. Not my fastest laps but man I love seeing the times that close together, especially for an endurance race.

I ran that stint on 148f/145r pressures - I think it's a pretty comfortable point to run the car at, worried pressures might run too low if the track gets really hot but from what I've learned being under pressure is a lot better than being over pressure. A lot of the time when I feel like the car just got shitty to drive out of nowhere and binned it, I look at the telemetry and realize my hot pressures were getting really high before it happened.

I like to use lap times to try and see what tire pressures they usually correlate with, but it's mostly good just for finding pressures that are comfortable and consistent to run on - there's fast guys that still swear by running minimum pressure! So I'm not worried about the pace it offers as much as car feel, because car feel is what I immediately feel when I change pressures, not pace.

That's just been my recent obsession though, I've been really enjoying looking at every little bit of telemetry I can for this car and trying to figure out what makes it tick, I realize I'm probably the only one that cares nearly this much about it lol. Hopefully at least a clean, good to drive car comes out of it.

If we really want to just set a number and forget about it, 141 front 138 rear works great for night, and should still feel good in the day, just maybe a bit low.

Sounds like we're on the same pace then as I run mostly in the high 30's or low 40's on the opening lap. I still haven't ran a completely clean full stint, but I'll work on it.

It seems like this car is really welcoming and tame to drive but if you push it one little bit, it spits you out or throws you into the wall and you're like wtf just happend.

Thanks, @Skid_Marc_, this is very helpful. I will do my best. As I told @Kenadian, I have some family coming in town and have to at least go out to dinner with them. May not matter anyway since it appears @VipersStrike21 is not driving and we can not cover this with just 3 of us. Any chance you might want to drive the AMG? I guess @Kenadian asked @Bedo to go back to the AMG while I was working on my qualifying laps and he refused, so we'll just do the best we can :)

@Kenadian said that if I drove with you guys, he'd touch me in my special place. So I didn't refuse, but politely declined because I like my special place set to 4 not 5. :p

Sorry guys, I already committed to the Porsche, plus my time is limited this weekend. Porsche had only 3 drivers and the Merc had 5 at the time. I'm sure there is someone on the iRacing forum who would make a great addition to the B2O GT3 team.

Let me start by stating I think (hope, really) that there won't be any outside forces (mother nature) that will affect my participation in this weekends event. We have been receiving a lot of rain in my area lately. Our canal has crested the seawall and made its way into the backyard. It's only an inch or two deep but if it raises a couple more inches then we might have to evacuate. There is supposed to be light rain later today and a little more tomorrow but then it should stop for a couple days.

I'll keep you guys informed of the situation and will continue to practice. Even if we don't get enough rain to raise it to evacuation height, the wind could still ruin the party. If we get 15-20+ mph winds blowing the right way it can raise it over the breaching point. I've seen it raise up a foot or more from it blowing water in from the lake into the canals. Hopefully we won't have to pack up and leave but time will tell.
