I agree with you though on a single seater, 100%. They just added gbus to the hornet right? I thought there were a few other things missing. The HARM being a big one.

GBUs and Mavericks are in (both laser and IR). The Maverick E/F are the only stand off weapons it has, but obviously Mavericks aren't exactly extended range munitions.

Things that it's missing that I think are essential to being a complete platform: ATFLIR, HARM's, Harpoons, JDAMs, TWS mode on the A/A radar, JAASMs, JSOWs and a functioning jammer.

That said, I think its complete enough to be usable in most environments right now. Anything with SA-10's, SA-11's, SA-6's, SA-3's or SA-2's is going to be tough without HARMs or JSOWs. You'll need another plane with more stand off to sanitize the area. More medium range threats you can handle with smart piloting. I've taken out plenty of and Strelas, OSAs and Tunguksas with Maverick F's, just takes some work. ATFLIR will make it much easier. You can even take out Tor's if you're super careful and willing to play chicken. Getting an A-10C to FAC-A for you will also let you use the longer range of the Maverick E's, but the A-10C pilot has to be a boss because the laser range isn't infinite.

No doubt! I so want the ATFLIR it is not even funny. It would also be nice if the IR Mavs were a bit easier to slew.

I’m in agreement that the Tomcat will be an amazing aircraft in DCS, but I too also agree that it won’t become the absolute dominating aircraft in the sim regardless of pilot skill level. In fact, while I think Jester AI looks awesome and is a huge step forward for the title it won’t replace folks who have the ability to operate as a pilot/rio team. The next huge hurdle for DCS IMHO is map size.......

I got my new warthog set up so i should be around. Kinda have an issue with the pedals/rudder but that should be an easy fix tho

Yes, the hornet has the JHMCS up and running now for A to A stuff.

And ED has said the air to ground functionality (like look-and-target and ATFLIR slaving) will come with the ATFLIR. They are waiting on their new thermal imaging renderer for ATFLIR. Which coincidentally will also be a huge upgrade for the A-10C.

I assume also with HARM integration as well? It has been a while since I've been in BMS but I recall being able to use it with them as well... Or at least seeing targets emitting.
