When you say join, do we have a server for this title or do we just meet up on a hosted public one?

Most likely the latter but @ElektroVodka has been looking into creating a hosted server for us.

I'm actually considering the World War II Assets Pack, Bf 109 K-4 Kurfurst and Spitfire LF Mk. IX.

I think the WWII pack comes in a combo deal with the Normandy map , i have this and it is very nice ( dirt runways and such) there is some player made content for it but not a lot of official.

I don't think WW2 stuff in DCS has taken off (no pun intended) quite to the extent they thought it might. IL-2 and other sims seem to have a better hold on that genre IMHO.

for co-op there are two missions that are tried and tested, the first one Capture Kobuleti has the blue side ( players ) trying to capture an airfield with all different types of enemies, this one is for anyone to use , has no limit on the amount of players it supports. The author justs asks that you don't change the name and if you make any major changes and stream it or anything that you give him credit for it , fair enough !

There are also areas of stactic vehicles for practice , you can use the ground vehicles if you have the mod for it ( you cant use this ground vehicle part in VR unless you want to be very ill ) and for those flying above the clouds , enemy migs will spawn if you go over 15,000 feet or so, just in case you were thinking about being a smart ass and bombing everything into submission from orbit Some of you may have an older version of this already , but the one i linked is the final (v10) version.

Second good one for 1-2 ( i think you might get away with 3 ) is "Through the Inferno" , this player made mission has both helicopter and plane missions which are dynamic and are spawned by the radio menu in whichever vehicle you are in , you can choose to have things marked by smoke or not and there are easy and hard versions of each mission type that you spawn.

For the planes there are air to air or air to ground missions, and for the helis , there are air to ground attack mission and supply or troop transport missions , no tank control on this one though.

The author asks that you either run this solo , or if you are doing co op and have to run the mission on line then to please password protect your server so that the session is invite only.

Follow the install instructions as this goes in your saved games folder not your main game folder.
It isn't quite the death machine the guy in the video makes out though lol

I mentioned there was a mod to controls tanks and other ground vehicles earlier, this is called "Combined Arms" and is also in the DCS sale for a couple more days, you can get it here for $20 U.S (normally $40) **THIS DOES NOT WORK IN VR** (well it does but so does a drill to the temples which would have roughly the same effect)

hahaaa lol, but a drill to the temples will give u that extra immersion though. No need for Buttkickers and stuff. I would suggest two drills by the way. Get some stereo effect going on.
Almost installed the A4 last night, has anyone tried it?

I tried the A4 , it flies as good as the rest, worth a download for sure.

This is the latest version of the A-4E-C you need the version that says hotfix. The installation instructions are in the read-me file from the same folder

If anyone ever wants to fly Hornets or Hawgs sometime, let me know. I've not done a lot of flight simming with this group, but I've got hundreds and hundreds of hours in the A-10C and the F-16 in Falcon BMS, and tens of hours in the Hornet.

I generally have my flight gear pulled out and plugged in on the weekends, since that's when I fly with my group. Anyone interested in some this weekend? We can hop on an MP server and just mess around, or I can throw a mission together in the editor if we want something more serious.

Would totally be down, but alas I am out of town this weekend with the family. Maybe next weekend however?

On another note, did anyone catch ED's note about improvements to VR coming to DCS World?

Anyway i'll be around if anyone is flying this weekend.
